Abstract

Forty years ago the 1968 happenings, specially the May Movement in France, have been exhaustively approached in academic essays, press printings, various books, fiction movies and documentaries, etc. The present article, which approaches some books published in Brazil in 2008, brings an idea about two antagonistic interpretations of these happenings: the have lost their sense, meaning nothing more, or can only be understood if contextualized in the tradition of revolutionary movements.
