The importance of diversities in analyzes of youth and political participation

Abstract

This work brings together data and analyzes derived from an accumulation of documentary and empirical research on the relationship between young people and politics and their forms of participation. We show that in this field it is important to consider diversities: of young people, their political practices, the relationship between young people and the parliamentary sphere and their political and ideological positions. The emphasis on diversity, specifically on its inclusion in collective decisions, is also one of the Youth’s teachings on how to improve democracy - what we call the democratization of institutions.
