Abstract

The study presents a critical analysis on the justification for the implementing and expanding public services offered on the Internet, the so-called “Electronic Government” (e-Gov). It shows current subjects such as the virtual citizenship and the digital inclusion program, and puts them in confront to the e-Gov directives and the indicators issued by the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee Group (CGI). The discussions are based on the Guy Debord’s theses, which enhance the critical view of Society of the Spectacle process of the citizenship.
