Abstract

The article revises the constituent tension existing between the individual and society from the challenge characterized by the institutionalized dynamics of the church (normalizing, congregational) and the individuality (subjectivity, religious choice). Among the developments of the New Age movement, started in the 60s, the growth of non-conventional religions stands out and these are fundamentally anti-institutional. There is a search for religiousness, in other words, religion without Religion. From this movement it is visualized the existing tension and transit among the concept of religion and religiousness.
