The empire and the imperialist capital system

Abstract

This article aims to discuss in which sense and quality of the existing relations in the world order and the social structures that portray the XXI century. In this context, we examine the current condition of the capitalist system and the role which a “new imperialism” can be playing; we also analyze the position and the function of the countries considered as “first world” as well as the place taken by the Latin American countries in the world order from that century.
