Abstract

In front of the imperativeness of a Law of Social Communication, which should establish the new regulatory framework for communications in Brazil, in line with the digital technology, this article seeks reflections on the legislative changes related to the confluence digital TV and education. Television and school form a binomial present in the path of education since the emergence of this mean of communication, considering its great strength as a producer of meanings and connotations, acting, especially, as an agent of socialization. On this direction, the TV Escola is a good example, whose prospects amplify itself, with the digital television. Therefore it is critical to understand the movements of public policy areas such as broadcasting and education in the convergence scenario, as well as the main project of education via television, since such dynamics can draw horizons and define the means of interaction among individuals, organizations and public and also private institutions.
