Abstract

The aim of this text is to present a prospective effort of the Bourdieusian approach to contemporary rural issues - particularly in social contexts marked by colonial history. More specifically, it will seek to launch some analytical hypotheses for understanding elements of the environmentalization of agrarian conflicts in Brazil based on dialogue with Bourdieu’s work - particularly with his ethnographies in colonial Algeria and his study of the Béarn peasants.
