Abstract

This paper’s intent is to provide a reflection on the bounds which separates gods, monsters and human beings of Antiquity, using passages of Homer’s Odyssey and from Cyclops and Hecuba, by Euripides. We present the essential characteristics of Cyclops, and also Euripidis’ criticism of the human that becomes monstrous in the comparison between Polymestor, character of the tragedy Hecuba, and Cyclops.
