Pentimento: the literary work in <i>Whatever happened to Dulce Veiga?</i>, by Caio Fernando Abreu

Abstract

This article studies the elaboration and integration of literary and nonliterary texts in Caio Fernando Abreu’s last novel entitled Onde andará Dulce Veiga?: A B-novel, published in 1990. By using several texts that belong to different genres of discourse, this novel offers a meta-linguistic reflection about its own production, about the author’s writing and creativity and, in a broader sense, about the relationship between artist and artistic creation in a contemporary context.
