Abstract

Mário Cláudio surrounded his character Tiago Veiga with a well-crafted paratextual game, designed to explore and dialectize life and fiction. In addition to the paratexts located on the thresholds of the work, the writer made use of epitexts, paratexts located outside the work. Considering that such epitexts can say a lot about the aforementioned work, and considering that Mário Cláudio created the character Tiago Veiga as a poet and that the character granted the authorship of some books of poems, we seek the interaction of the Biography text with that of the epitexts poetic, seeking to find in Tiago Veiga uma biografia (Mário Cláudio, 2011), the affections of various natures, mixed with tenderness and desire, that motivated the poems, in the benevolence / concupiscence dialectic.
