Abstract

The objective of this article is to develop an analysis of the book Amanhã amadrugada (1993), by Cape Verdean writer Vera Duarte. This work is celebrating 30 years of publication, which becomes very significant for female-authored cartography in Cape Verde, in the sense of being a poetic production that demonstrates the exquisite exercise of poetry born under the elements of salt, sea and body . To support the analysis, we will anchor ourselves in the critical positions of Vera Duarte (2008) and Dina Salústio (2018) on Cape Verdean writing by female authors, Clenora Hudson-Weems (2020) on African womanism and Oyeronké Oyewumi (2021) on cosmoperception.
