This research analyses editions of Mrs Dalloway in Brazilian Portuguese published between 1946 and 2025. It draws a direct relation between the history of translation and the publishing history in Brazil. This connection is based on Robert Darnton's (2010) concept of the communications circuit, the international literary field (Casanova, 2002a, 2002b), and the idea that publishing houses are vital agents in the sociology of translation (Sapiro, 2008). The aim is, therefore, to explore a perspective that understands paratexts as integral components of the editorial process, alongside the contributions of translators and authors of supplementary texts.
