The Lyric Persona on the Outside of Himself in Tarde, by Paulo Henriques Britto

Abstract

“Tarde”, Paulo Henriques Britto’s book, revisits and reconsiders some of the procedures of his previous works, that led the critic and readers to consider that poet as one of the most important of contemporaneity. In this article, I aim to focus, by reading some poems of the series “Balanço”, some forms of constitution of the lyric persona in this book, especially those that rely on the displacement of self, which in “Tarde” is decisive for understanding the procedures of this author.
