Reflections upon Corpo de Baile

Abstract

The present study presents some reflections about the group of novellas called Corpo de baile, written by Guimarães Rosa, focusing on mythical and mystical conceptions of diverse origins, some of which pointed out by the author himself as the sources he drew from, as well as on historical and social issues that were debated by Brazilian intellectuals at the time of the publication of this work.
