Genealogy of the principal narrative forms: from the origins until the birth of the novel

The aim of this paper is to present an outline, represented by a family tree design, of the construction process of the principal narrative forms, from the origins until the birth of the novel, and sign the possible dialog among modern fi ctions and classical texts, verifi ed by formal elements, symbols and conventions.
