In the search of the rediscovered time: a reading of the short stories of Adelino Magalhães

Abstract

This article aims to present a reading of the short stories of Casos e impressões, Adelino Magalhães’s work composed of significant formal innovations in the early twentieth century. Forgotten by the current Brazilian critics, this author not only raised important questions about the scenery of society in his time, but also contributed with a new writing, based on the attempt to represent the intimacy of the characters in his short stories.
