Monsters and margins – from the chapbook to the comic book

Our purpose is to make a comparative reading of an eighteenth-century Portuguese chapbook and its respective comic adaptation. The analysis highlights the intertextual relationship between the two cultural objects and the process of subversion, through parody, that the source text provides.
