Territory makers: migration and ruralitys in the urban context

Abstract

The rural migrants that inhabit several attraction areas spread on the agribusiness territories can exists while "group" since they are capable to recreate a territory and to establish with it a living cultural relationship. The festive popular catholicism tradition called “Folia de Reis” is an example of this affective appropriation of the space. This article aims to articulate the relationship among migration, space and territory, and presents too the result of a rural migrants group “foliões de reis” case sutdy. This group got recreates this festive tradition in an urban environment located in a city of the Campinas metropolitan area (RMC).
