Abstract: This article discusses, through an interdisciplinary approach between the human sciences and the labor sciences (notably ergonomics, work psychodynamics and labor law), the context and issues that surround and determine the recognition of female prostitution as a profession in Brazil. For this, the investigation of two instruments was used as a methodology: the first configured by the extensive review of the content of the book “The zero point of the revolution: domestic work, reproduction and feminist struggle”, by Silvia Federici and; the second, by collecting information from reflections carried out during the first semester of 2021 in the Vulnerability and Social Protection discipline, taken at the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Applied Human and Social Sciences, linked to the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FCA/UNICAMP). In this way, after the readings and debates held at the meetings, the information recorded was systematized for the elaboration of a coherent and logical narrative, in article format. Thus contributing to the understanding of the work of prostitutes in contemporary Brazil.
Key-words: activity ergonomics; work; prostitution; labor law.
