Abstract

The present article brings reflections about environment and society, by the glance of agroecology. Leaving from the idea of co-evolution between social systems and environmental systems, there is made a critic to the scientific reductionism, which is in the origin of a series of environmental problems, having in the modernization of the agriculture one of his faces. Next, the agroecology presents herself as a new approach, to orientate the transition from unsustainable models of agriculture and development to sustainable styles of agricultures. The article presents the familiar agriculture while privileged actor inside programs and politics of rural development, under the perspective of agroecology and the redirection of co-evolution between social and agroenvironmental systems.
