Abstract

This article discusses how the game Minecraft can be applied to enhance Geography Teaching, specifically in High School. Exploring the intersection between technology and Education, the research investigates how the integration of digital games can assist in classroom activities. By using Minecraft as a pedagogical tool, educators allow students to build and explore virtual worlds, facilitating the understanding of geographic contents through practical and interactive experience. Based on this, from action research and active methodologies we sought to use Minecraft to address the theme of anthropic action. The results indicate that there was an improvement in the assimilation of content, evidenced by the students' ability to relate theory and practice more fluidly. The article also addresses the challenges faced, such as the need for teacher training and the adaptation of the curriculum to incorporate digital tools. The implications for educational practice are profound, suggesting that games like Minecraft not only enrich Geography Teaching, but also develop essential 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, creativity and collaboration.
