Living from the coffee plantation: subjectivity and way of life of the rural workers seen under the perspective of the literature of testimony

The literary works whose protagonists are rural workers were until now not enough studied. In this study the narratives “Start again”, “Comfort the afflicted” and “At 10 we have lunch”, from the journalist and writer Murilo Carvalho, are interpreted. The works are taken as a privileged means for the investigation of the rural workers’ way of life and subjectivity. The methodology will be is based on the intersections between sociology, psychology and testimony.Downloads
