The aim was to discuss the perspective of a new production paradigm that could replace commonly found factors in family farming production and the possibility of actions reflected in signs geared towards Agroecology. This study aimed to characterize the Sepé Tiarajú settlement, located between the municipalities of Serra Azul and Serrana-SP, established as a PDS (Sustainable Development Project), in terms of the number of families, plant production system based on Agroecology, cooperatives, SAFs (Agroforestry Systems), food, self-consumption, relationship with natural resources, and public policies – discussing, through them, rural development perspectives for the settlement. Currently, the settlement has two cooperatives – Cooperecos and Cooperfit, and an association – Fraterra. The organizational balance, expressed in the good relationship between the cooperatives justified by affinity, is reflected throughout the entire settlement. The actors in this territory are committed to prohibiting pesticides throughout the entire plant production cycle. The increasing number of SAFs is due to previous experiences and participation in social programs. The Cooperecos leaders are participating in the “Coopera Mais Brasil” program, officially launched in April 2024 in the city of Luziânia-GO. Public marketing programs, especially the PNAE, have priority, although they go through periods of slowdown. For instance, the 2022 PAA was completed, and its continuity is awaited.
