Abstract

Pay-for-performance policies are an important component of several recently implemented educational reforms around the world. This study aims to investigate the policy design of some major Brazilian experiences implemented by state governments in their education networks, using parameters found in the contemporary literature on the subject. Recent policies undertaken by the state governments of Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Espírito Santo are analyzed.
