Textual project and iconicity: a reflection on the communicative effectiveness

The present study deals with the search for subsidies to optimize classes on text production in Portuguese. Focus is placed upon the production of theoretical support on: a) text as a perceptible visual object; b) iconicity of the textual image and its relation to the push of mental spaces; c) linguistic selection / combination in the production of textual iconicity; d) communicative project, textual effectiveness and verisimilitude. The hypothesis of grammatical iconicity as based upon Peirce´s semiotics is considered. It also discussed the effectiveness of a communicative process in its ability to express understandable, plausible pieces. The object-genus of the present study is the essay. The effectively produced dissertation text should bring about mental images that are linked to a surrounding cosmovision at the community the reader is inserted into. The encounter of the textual images with the interiorized / evocated ones shall result in its communicative effectiveness, with emphasis on the lexical selection, in which we highlight the contribution of Antenor Nascentes.
