Public power and syndicalism: looking to the privatization of the electric centrals from Pará

Abstract

This study approaches the Urbanists syndicalism in front of the Brazilian program of privatizations. In search of understanding this process, the discussion focuses on the neoliberal context which implements the Brazilian privatizations, the lies involved in the numbers presented by the government about the benefits to the public safes with the selling of State companies and the role of foreign State companies in this buying process, so that we can see the Urbanists Syndicalism resistance and also the actions of the Public State power responsible by the workers unemployment to make provisions for the companies inside the privatization process of the Electrical Centrals from Pará. The text was written trough biographic and documental research, and also by interviews with Syndicalism’s leaderships.
