Abstract

This work aims to introduce the concepts of ideology and utopia by Karl Mannheim, setting them in an epistemological and sociological perspective and the consequences which, according to Mannheim, both involve to the notion of "all truth", in which must be understood related concepts as a "full understanding" and "situational analysis" among others. Some epistemological and methodological issues by mannheim are discussed first, the following analysis the most closely related to the sociology of knowledge, precisely the ideology and utopia.
