Conforming and contesting: the political phenomenon on anthropogist Georges Balandier's thought

We sought to analyze the mode of construction of the "political" and "power" concepts in the works "Political Anthropology" (1987), written by anthropologist Georges Balandier. First we tried to identify the main issues raised and the arguments of the author. That done, we draw some general considerations about the limits and possibilities of such an approach from a set of problems related character, especially the way he perceives the political phenomenon and, more precisely, the notions of "power" and "political power".Downloads
