Abstract

This essay proposes a reflection on the relationship between translation and poetic text under the derridean deconstruction view. Translation and poetic event are recurrent and interrelated themes in Jacques Derrida’s work. If deconstruction is, on the one hand, a question of translation, the poem is the passion for the impossible that feeds the deconstructive movement in its endlessness. Following the tissue through which translation and the literary imbue Derrida’s work, the reflection herein proposed revisits derridean themes in the context of this interplay, aiming at a rereading and a rediscovery of these two questions that present themselves as being as irresistible as they are impossible.
