Abstract

The aim of this study is to present the literary translation of the classics included in Centopagine, an editorial project (1971-1985), directed by the Italian writer Italo Calvino (1923-1985) for the Einaudi publishing house in Turin, to highlight them as an essential tool for creating a literary canon. Those are “short novels” or “long stories”, which were mainly written by great authors of the nineteenth century.
