Abstract

The text makes a reflection the dialogue of the contemporary social thought with the classic thought. It makes use of the analvzes of Danilo Martucelli about the sociologies of modernity and Phiilipe Corcuff regarding the theoretical constructivists. It emphasizes Pierre Bourdieu as example of a social theory that communicates with different classic theories. It concludes that the contemporary sociology is still confronted with the binary oppositions that reinforce the positivist conception of science, doing that the dialogue between modern and classic theories still being alive and incomplete.
