Abstract

In the historical condition of substrate necessary for the global strategy of capitalist accumulation, the so-called peripheral sub-systems – such as Brazil and Latin America – is notorious for a historical process of modernization depends on the field, which suggests a strong attachment to the political experiences and tied to economic ideology of progress. The aim of this paper is to present and discuss, even in a preliminary way, the movements peasants has proved a major critical agents of modernization of the countryside. The central hypothesis is that the theme of internationalisation, especially in the MST – expressed concretely in conjunction with the CLOC and Via Campesina – and the fundamental building block of a political project latin american that binds to other popular movements in the field. This project establishes an understanding of supranational dimensions of land problems, incorporating also other topics - such as biodiversity and the environment.
