Beyond the economistic utilitarianism: a case study of the logic of the corporate collective action

The article points out some contributions to the understanding of collective entrepreneurial action. The article presents a study about the implementation of the SEBRAE´s Associative Networks Program in Campos dos Goytacazes / RJ. In support of the analysis, we resorted to the Games and Rational Choice Theories. However, due to the identification of the need to go beyond rational explanation of economism, it was used the concept of Social Capital. The methodology included a literature review and field research. It was identified that some of the dilemmas faced by collective potters had a significant influence on the choice of individuals to participate or not of the Campos Cerâmica Network (CCN) and that these dilemmas can be better understood by resorting to the concept of Social Capital.
