Abstract

The Bolsa Família Program is an income transfer policy aimed at social assistance and benefits in Brazil about 50 million Brazilians that, to receive it, must satisfy conditionalities linked to health and education, mostly. This study proposes a reflection on the Bolsa Familia and, from an institutional design program outline, its articulation with three main theories. Thus, by Amartya Sen approach, it is aimed to analyze in general the program as a means of expanding freedoms towards the development, basing its background in the general theory of Keynes. Made possible by these perspectives, lastly, fell illustrate, bringing the program to the notion of gift, as it is one more example that reiterates the general status of exchange and reciprocity as founders of the social tissue.

Orientado pela Profa. Dra. Renata Medeiros Paoliello faz pesquisa antropológica tendo como objeto de estudo o Programa Bolsa Família (PBF).
