Abstract

This paper describes an experience that indicates the promising way of collaboration between specialized technical counseling in special and inclusive education and regular teaching. The inclusive education as foreseen in the national regulation requires a re-signification of the school to offer high-quality teaching for all, without any distinctions. The collaborative counseling has been indicated in the literature as a model to support the process of school transformation. In this perspective, the Municipal Educational Secretariat of Bauru, which since 2005 develops a project for inclusion, adopts this practice and works with counseling to provide technical, pedagogical and theoretical subsides for the schools and the Special Teaching Division team, which manages the inclusive work in the teaching network, thus consolidating an inclusive work. Many actions have been conducted in twelve months of work for the restructuration, accommodation and consolidation of the inclusion project of the city, which demonstrates the importance of this action.
