Abstract

The current research is dedicated to the solution of number of issues. The first issue is the study of cultural linguistics as a modern linguistic discipline observing culture features that are reflected in the linguistic units used by the native speakers of the specific country. The ground for the choice is conditioned not only by the number of native speakers and the idea to analyze historical and cultural features of two cultures, but also by the high frequency of proper name “V. Putin” usage in the British and Spanish mass media authors’ texts devoted to the Russian Federation. The research methodology was based on the method of continuous sampling, descriptive and content analysis methods. In the result of the research, it has been found out that culture-specific items are closely connected with native speakers’ system of cultural values.
