Abstract

Our objective in this article is to address, firstly, principles related to information and communication technologies (ICT) in education and 21st century learning, focusing on computer literacy, the importance of ICT in initial training of language teachers and the development of reflective thinking in the online context. After considering some theoretical assumptions, we will present an action research conducted in a Federal University in the discipline of Teaching Methodology for English for Specific Purposes. Finally, we present the results of the analysis of data collected through three instruments, during a semester of online activities in the discipline mentioned above, and our consideration of ICT applied to language teaching and teacher training.
