Ethical Principles for Editors
- Decision: Decide on the fate of submitted manuscripts based on scientific and ethical standards;
- Impartiality: Evaluate strictly based on the intellectual content of manuscripts, without any discrimination in the treatment of authors;
- Confidentiality: Do not disclose the manuscript beyond those involved in the editorial process;
- Non-review: In cases involving conflicts of interest;
- Non-disclosure: Of unpublished content without the explicit authorization of the author(s);
- Investigation: Conduct investigations in cases of ethical complaints about submitted or published manuscripts;
- Verification: Check for copyright violations, plagiarism, legal requirements, and defamation;
- Assurance: Ensure the preservation of scientific knowledge through publication decisions;
- Legality: Verify or contact authors in case of doubts about the legislation governing the place where the research was conducted;
- Specificity: Be specific in criticism, even when remaining objective.
