Abstract

The voices of women who experienced intrafamilial sexual violence during childhood stand in contrast to the silence of scientific literature regarding the repercussions of this violence throughout survivors’ lives. In a context marked by alarming rates of violence against women, this issue motivated the present investigation. This study aimed to analyze how contemporary literature (2021–2026) discusses the identity construction of women survivors of intrafamilial sexual violence during childhood (ISVC), through an integrative literature review guided by the PRISMA 2020 methodology, seeking to understand the phenomenon and provide support for healthcare professionals and public policies. The analysis of the nine selected articles indicates that ISVC constitutes an interrelational phenomenon, with repercussions for survivors’ development. Reflexive thematic analysis revealed intrafamilial dynamics marked by power asymmetries and secrecy, family and institutional responses characterized by invalidation, omission, and revictimization, as well as repercussions on women’s identity formation. A scarcity of studies addressing this issue was observed, highlighting gaps in the understanding of the relationship between ISVC and identity construction.
