Training of border troops within the framework of national security of Ukraine

This article presents the results of a study conducted at the Bohdan Khmelnytskyi National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (2021–2024), which analyzed the professional training of future border guard officers considering contemporary challenges to national security. The study's relevance stems from the need to increase the service's efficiency, which is essential for protecting the borders and combating threats such as terrorism, transnational crime, illegal migration, and smuggling. The research addressed curriculum modernization, the integration of innovative technologies and teaching methods, and the improvement of practical training for staff. Comparative, systemic, and structural-functional methods, as well as analysis and modeling, were used. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating international experiences into the training of border guards, strengthening their responsiveness to geopolitical instability and emerging global threats.
