The dossier Emerging Debates: From Gender to Extreme Climate Events is the result of reflections, research, and experiences developed throughout the Fifth Seminar of the Postgraduate in Geography at the UFSCar (Universidade Federal de São Carlos), Sorocaba city campus, held in the first half of 2025. Published by REDD (Revista Espaço de Diálogo e Desconexão), this special issue arises from the collective effort of professors, students, and researchers to reflect – based on Geography and related fields – on the contemporary challenges that cut across territories, Education, environmental issues, and public policies.
