Resumo

Este estudo tem como objetivo examinar a identidade docente inicial de estudantes-professores de inglês como língua estrangeira em uma universidade estadual turca. A pesquisa foi delineada como um survey quantitativo transversal, com o objetivo de mensurar o nível de identidade docente inicial e suas subdimensões. O estudo também investigou se a identidade docente inicial variava de acordo com as características demográficas dos participantes. A amostra foi composta por 196 estudantes-professores matriculados no Departamento de Ensino de Língua Inglesa de uma universidade estadual na Turquia. Os dados foram coletados por meio de um questionário on-line composto por um formulário de informações demográficas e pela Early Teacher Identity Measure (ETIM). Para a análise dos dados, foram utilizadas estatísticas descritivas, testes t para amostras independentes e testes ANOVA unidirecionais. Os resultados indicaram que os participantes apresentavam um nível relativamente alto de identidade docente inicial. A autoeficácia foi identificada como a subdimensão mais forte, enquanto a responsabilidade em sala de aula e o engajamento voluntário com crianças ou adolescentes mostraram-se menos desenvolvidos.
