The article is devoted to studying and evaluating the effectiveness of implementing modern methodological approaches to forming key competences in preschool children. In the course of the study, the methods of literature analysis and research of pedagogical innovations in the field of preschool education, questionnaires of parents, educators, methodologists, and experimental research based on the information obtained were used. The critical competences of preschool children are outlined, including health, communicative, subject-practical, game, sensory-cognitive, natural and ecological, artistic and productive, speech, social, personal, and evaluative competences. The article presents modern methodological approaches to forming each of the key competences in preschool children, divided into traditional and innovative ones.
