Abstract

This study aims to clarify the content of Nguyen An Ninh’s thought on democratic enlightenment and analyze the role of education in the formation of free individuals from the perspective of educational science and social psychology. The research method used is the analysis of documents, combined with an interdisciplinary approach that draws on educational psychology and humanistic philosophy. The research results show that Nguyen An Ninh’s thought on democratic enlightenment is founded on awakening the individual through education, viewing education as the central means of forming free individuals capable of independent thought, self-choice, and self-responsibility to the community. This thought demonstrates profound similarities with modern educational theories on holistic human development and individual autonomy. The significance of this research lies in providing a new approach to studying Nguyen An Ninh’s thought, while also suggesting theoretical and practical implications for civic education and liberal education in Vietnam in the current context.
