Peer Review and Reviewer Compensation Policy

The journal adopts peer review as a core mechanism to ensure scientific quality, editorial integrity, and methodological rigor of submitted manuscripts. Recognizing the technical complexity and intellectual value of this activity, the journal establishes the remuneration of ad hoc reviewers as part of its editorial policy.

This policy reflects a commitment to transparency, ethical standards, and the professionalization of scientific publishing, in alignment with international best practices.

Reviewer Compensation Conditions (2026)

1. Compensation Amount
Reviewers will receive BRL 75.00 per completed review, provided that all editorial and quality criteria are met.

2. Acceptance and Deadline

  • Reviewers must formally accept the invitation to review;
  • The review must be completed within 7 calendar days from acceptance;
  • Late submissions may not be eligible for compensation unless justified and approved by the editorial board.

3. Payment Policy
Payments are processed on a quarterly basis, as follows:

  • January–March → payment by April 30
  • April–June → payment by July 30
  • July–September → payment by October 30
  • October–December → payment by January 30 (following year)

4. Payment Requirements
Upon accepting the review, reviewers must provide:

  • Full name
  • Tax identification (CPF or equivalent)
  • Bank details or PIX key
  • Full address (including postal code)

Incomplete or incorrect information may delay or prevent payment.

5. Validation and Quality Assurance
Payments are subject to editorial validation, ensuring that the review meets scientific, ethical, and methodological standards.

6. Independence and Ethics
Compensation does not affect reviewer independence. All reviews must be conducted with impartiality, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical standards. Conflicts of interest must be declared.
